yet still the world (notebook poem)

finding myself suddenly
as if carried —
a yellowthroat
drawn to blossom
never knowing or expecting

Or did you know
that offered the chance
I would raise my head
bring my lips
give them
not thinking

O you strong enough
to compel
but no need of that
The lightest breeze
can shiver a flower
yet still the world
comes round.
